Bright Prospects for
the Maine Crafts Guild in 2011

We’re celebrating our 36th year and good things are happening!

Our schedule of Five Fine Craft Shows, spanning from July 17 through November 7, 2011 is a great success! Last year’s advertising campaign was the best ever with pages in Down East Magazine, The Maine Gallery + Studio Guide, Portland Magazine, many newspapers, TV, radio, a tri-fold, tons of postcards, emails and more!

Underwriters for the Guild
We’re very excited this year to announce that we are inviting a select few businesses to become underwriters of the Guild. We are very proud that John Morris Architects of Camden, ME is the first to take this opportunity. John Morris Architects specializes in cottage-style Arts and Crafts homes on the coast. Our second underwriter is Lie-Nielsen Toolworks, Inc. in Warren, ME. Lie-Nielsen has a worldwide reputation as makers of the finest woodworking handtools. We feel that they are a perfect fit in keeping with the Guild’s mission and we look forward to a long relationship with them both. The generous support of these two fine-craft businesses will allow us to promote the Maine Crafts Guild and our shows more widely than ever before.

We thank Barbara Walch for serving on our board for the last three years. Barbara has stepped down so she can concentrate her energies on her business. We will all miss her! Thank you, Barbara. Richard Abbott and Michelle Henning have been appointed as At Large members until the Annual Members Meeting at the 36th Annual Directions Show at MDI in July.
