Always interested in Japanese vessels, we are eclectic in our design inspirations which are based on African, Southwest Indian and Asian surface decoration. We see Chinese celedons with dark Korean gray-greens under Japanese geometric patterns with references to fans, water and mountain characters. Recent exposure to African bogolon cloth and Hopi and Navaho blankets are inspiring new imagery. Often these design concepts are not completely evident as we celebrate their cultural uniqueness in our own abstract way.
Our studio and gallery in the coastal village of Round Pond is open year round for visits by chance or appointment. Visit our website for a gallery of our work, map to the studio and a calendar of the fine craftshows that we do each year.
