Artisans go through a rigorous multi part jury process to gain status as a Professional Member of The Guild.
Completed application documents, imagery of work and show booth are submitted digitally through this web site along with a nonrefundable $35 application fee. Our Standards Committee meets throughout the year to review all applications in a jurying process.
First, the Standards Committee convenes for an Image Jury and reviews all applications and images. And then, those applicants who are selected from this pool are further invited to partake in an Objects Jury.
When the Standards Committee approves a potential member, they must then exhibit at one of our shows; and the Objects Jury is typically conducted at this time during which, the applicant’s pieces are available for physical viewing, handling (as appropriate), added examination and discussion. Objects Juries are held at some, but not all, of our shows. Also at the shows, our entire membership has a chance to meet the artist and view their work. This also gives the artist a feel for their potential fit in The Guild.
Dues-paying members are members for life. Benefits include: preference for booth space at any Guild show; lower booth fees; a printed copy of our newsletter; use of the guild’s mailing list; a vote at membership meetings; a listing in our brochure; and a dedicated page on this site.
